The Old Portland
I have found myself at a new haunt. It is called The Old Portland, and it is a wine bar on NW Quimby, owned (I believe) by Courtney Taylor-Taylor of the Dandy Warhols. It is filled with old Portland memorabilia from my youth, including the Satyricon sign. I'm sitting here in a chair (which, the regulars inform me, is the "David Bowie ass chair", whatever that means) and I'm reading a book about Brooke Astor and contemplating the inexorable march of time.

I'm also thinking about the activity of blogging, and what I should be writing about here. Once I go to Japan in March, of course, I'll have plenty to report. For the moment, however, I am in a bit of a holding pattern, head down, trying to get a million little items checked off my to-do list.

Anyway, here's the David Bowie ass chair and the book I'm reading. That's all the news for this Friday evening. Think I'll have another glass of wine.
