I completed the first draft of a new short story (which is exciting, given that my short story output has been less than nil [...] I’m kind of embarrassed that this is my first post of 2012. So let’s see what been going on so far this year, and what there is to look forward to … I finally got a new camera! Remember how I’m always bitching about how crappy my phone camera is? Well, I broke down [...] OK, so yeah, I’m back from Worldcon. I had no flight issues or delays of any kind, if you don’t count the fact that the TSA seems to do all it’s training of new screeners at 9 a.m. on Sunday mornings, which is when I went through the security line. It was equal parts [...] So last week, the utterly divine Madeleine Robins called me with the news that THE NATIVE STAR has made the 2011 Nebula Ballot. I’ve been silently freaking out ever since. I’ve never been on an actual award ballot before. In response to this unaccountable occurrence, I have retreated, as one does, to costuming. Yes, [...] Well, we’re back from the beach and we’re all sunburned and windburned and exhausted. The dog especially. The minute we got home she flopped down on her bed and hasn’t left it since. She does groan occasionally, and look over at me balefully. Poor pup. She was on fast-forward the whole weekend, swimming in [...] | |
