I knew that the splendiferous Ellen Datlow would come through for me … she always takes the best photos! Here they are from her Flickr gallery:
This is my favorite of all the shots. You can see the hand-stitching on the bodice hem & around the buttons. And the fan actually went with the dress & trim better than I expected it would. (I have a full-on black ostrich feather fan that would have better completed the ensemble, but it would not have survived the night, no way no how.)

Tres purple and tres shiny! Also, apparently I have been curling 50lb freeweights in my sleep, for I cannot otherwise explain the humongousity of my upper arms.

Here you get the best view of the whole dress. Yes, it has a train, and yes, people stepped on it all night.

And finally … just the bustle, all by itself, in all its glory.
If you want to see the purple dress up close and in person, it is going to be at Orycon next weekend and Steamcon the weekend after that. It will be participating in the Orycon masquerade (7 pm, Saturday, Nov. 13), and will also be attending one of the evening functions at Steamcon. Probably Saturday night, but who knows what the whims of the purple dress shall be. It wears you, you do not wear it.
UPDATE: I just looked at my programming schedule for Orycon and damned if I am not scheduled straight through Masquerade. So the purple dress will NOT be participating in the Orycon Masquerade; instead, it will be appearing on Saturday night as part of the “Promotion in the Information Age” panel (seems somewhat appropriate, yeah?) and at the Broad Universe reading. And then after that we’ll promenade or faint or something.
