So I was kind of waiting for explicit permission from my editor to post this, but given that GoogleEgo has alerted me to its presence on Amazon (!!) and elsewhere, I figure I can consider it officially “in the wild.”
So here it is—the cover art for “The Native Star”! Wooo! Feast your eyes on that sumptuous display font! I am in love with that font. I’m guessing it’s a modern reinterpretation (the curlicue serifs on the “N” and “M” and “H” don’t look strictly period to me) but it’s a goddamn gorgeous one if you ask me. And you see, it even has stars in it. Get it?
I even got a quasi-urban-fantasy chick. I bet the designer was cussing me out because I didn’t give her a tattoo on her shoulder. How can a quasi-urban-fantasy book cover designer be expected to work under such conditions? No tattoo at ALL? What the hell, man?
Anyway, enough giddy foolishness. Now I have cover art, which means all the elements of my master plan are falling into place. Can a flash site and book trailer be far behind? Oh my dear friends, just you wait and see.
