My Authorial Debut

The Thrilling Sequel

One Year Later (Puppy Pix)

10 months oldI meant to post this yesterday on the actual date, but things got away from me as they so often do. But yesterday was the one year anniversary of the untimely demise of our puppy Butterscotch. We were all a little blue, but we took Sugar Cookie for extra walkies, which was great fun for all. And despite the fact that it’s one a.m., I’m glad I’ve finally found a moment to post a puppy retrospective. The odd thing is that I really don’t have more than one or two pictures of Butterscotch, and I can’t find even those on my computer. We went through a run of crappy camera luck, but I can’t believe we have so few photos. Ah, sic transit gloria mundi.

Well, anyway, we’ve more than made it up on Sugar. I give you … puppy pictures!

Lovely creature. Our Lab (14) is on her way out with lymphoma. We're trying to make her comfy and all … But …

Birthday greetings, by the way. Hope yours is a good one.

Oh, I'm so sorry. 14 years is a good run, but it's never long enough.
All the best to your sweet one.

Puppy seems to be thinking “My life is a hollow lie.”

  • http://www.demimonde.com M.K. Hobson

More likely she's thinking, “Where is my ball? Why did mom take my
ball away? When will it be time to eat again?”

I've long maintained that if they ever created a machine which
translated the thoughts of dogs (ala “Up”) a lot of dog owners would
discover, quite to their disappointment, that their dogs don't really
think about them at all. Ever. ;-)

Well, they probably see us as their pack so anything that endangers their pack leaders endangers THEM. That being said, if there was a translator, the results would probably be more like this.

Well, that's one very blonde and lanky baby you've got there. Silky ears, too. Nom.

  • http://www.demimonde.com M.K. Hobson

She is indeed. I've delivered an ear-rub on your behalf.

lol. computer as a shield. does she ever stop waching her acused anime. smart dog to try and gey her out.

  • http://www.demimonde.com M.K. Hobson

She says that what's *really * going on in the picture is me trying to
make her stop watching anime and the dog is defending her! ;-)

  • TheOneAndOnlyFay

she may have a point there. acused dog….

  • hazelwindows

Hilarious and adorable mixed together. SWEET

    Off topic, I know…

    HAPPY BIRTHDAY, MK!

  • http://www.demimonde.com M.K. Hobson

Thank you!! I am one year away from being Answer to the Ultimate
Question of Life. This year is just a warmup. ;-)

  • http://serge-lj.livejournal.com/ Serge

…while I've gone way beyond the warmup phase to the Answer, and into the cold-leftovers-forgotten-in-the-back-of-the-fridge phase.

    Happy Birthday again.
Oh, and what did you think of the illustration I put up for the occasion on my blog?

    :-)

  • http://www.demimonde.com M.K. Hobson

Heh heh! I love it. I admit, I had to look her up though. My first
thought was, “how do superheroes fight in all that headgear?” ;-)

  • SergeBroom

Fighting? Heck, imagine her getting in a crowded elevator.

  • C.S. Cole

    OMG, the CUTEST pup!

  • http://www.demimonde.com M.K. Hobson

Well, we think so, except we're biased. ;-)
