Frewer has indeed tended to act like Max in everything that I saw him in after that. Even ST-TNG and “Generation X”. It makes me wonder if Frewer IS as manic as Max. He was quite restrained in what I saw of him in “Alice” though, but the more you tell me about the rest of the story, the more I’m convinced I made the right decision by staying away.

In my mind, Matt Frewer will always be Max Headroom. Poor chap.

There were bits and pieces of “Alice” that I liked. Overall, however, I was really frustrated with how the motivation of the characters just kept changing randomly. (The Duchess is a good example … what was up with HER? She had a completely illogical character arc.)

But it had a reasonably sweet little romance in it, which was nice.

I caught part of “Alice”. That scene with Matt Frewer as the White Knight almost had me reconsider. Then they cut to the drug lab, and that broke the spell.

This reminds me of the miniseries produced by the Halmi Family, my favorite of which was “Jack and the beanstalk”. In “Alice” though, the rough appears to greatly outweighed the few diamonds.

If I remember correctly, my problems with “Tin Man” were of a storytelling nature, although I don’t remember what exactly the problems were. Speaking od Deschanel, did you know that her sister is the star of “Bones”, and that her mom played John Glenn’s wife in “The Right Stuff”?

As for “Dreamchild”… I’ve seen only bits and pieces about it, but it looks good. My understanding is that it’s about the relationship between Lewis Carroll (played by Ian Holm) and the very young Alice, and it suggests that his feelings were… well.. troubling.

I have wanted to see “Dreamchild” for a long time, but haven’t gotten around to it. If you see it, let me know if it’s good!
